Emily A. Williams, MD
Since arriving in Spokane in 2010, Dr. Williams has focused on providing outstanding care for her aesthetic and reconstructive patients.
Special Clinical Interests: breast reconstruction, free flap (micro) surgery, breast aesthetics, body aesthetics
Dr. Williams founded Plastic Surgery Northwest in 2010 after completing her surgical training at the prestigious University of Washington Plastic Surgery Residency. Drawn by Spokane’s proximity to the outdoors, tight social community and advanced medical practice, she has truly found a place that feels like home.

Discovering a passion for the creative problem solving and positivity of Plastic Surgery during her medical training, Dr. Williams maintains a great appreciation for the remarkable variety of patient needs that Plastic Surgery can address, treating each patient as an individual and working diligently to understand their unique anatomy and goals as a surgical plan is developed.

Microsurgical breast reconstruction has remained a passion for Dr. Williams throughout her career. She has developed a vast experience, having performed several hundred of these complex reconstructive procedures while helping to build Plastic Surgery Northwest into one of the busiest and most advanced breast reconstruction practices in the country.

Aesthetic surgery for the breast and body is Dr. Williams’ other focus. She never tires of helping patients to achieve, or return to, a physique that provides the confidence that they deserve.

These focused specialties are complimentary, each honing advanced skills and techniques that achieve the best outcomes for Dr. Williams’s patients.

In addition to her extremely busy surgical practice, Dr. Williams is honored to be recognized in and to give back to her community.
During her training, Dr. Williams won numerous awards, including recognition by Harborview Medical Center for her “exemplary skill, compassion and care for children,” the first time a surgery resident had been so honored. The recognition of her leadership and surgical skill has continued as she has served as the President of the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons, representing plastic surgeons in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, Hawaii, British Columbia and Alberta. Preceding this, she served as the President of the Washington Society of Plastic Surgeon and has participated in local hospital leadership at Providence Sacred Heart for over a decade.
As a powerful advocate for women, Dr. Williams is a participant on a focused national committee within the American Society of Plastic Surgeons that is working to preserve access to free flap breast reconstruction and was a speaker at a meeting of stakeholders for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, advocating for continued access to this procedure.

Dr. Williams is a native of the Northwest. She met her husband while a freshman at Willamette University when both arrived early to campus to complete pre-season training for their respective sports. Dr. Williams went on to become a four-year varsity athlete in both cross-country and track. She was captain of the women’s cross-country team, and was honored as an NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete.

Outside of work, Dr. Williams continues to enjoy all types of outdoor activities, including trail running, golfing and skiing with her husband, Matt. You can often find them in the mountains with their scrappy rescue dogs, feeling fortunate every day to live in this amazing community.
